ROARS ORIGINAL found deep resonance with the themes of this work and decided to support its publication.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\t\t\t\t\t\t  \n\u003cp\u003eIn Horii’s own words, HUNGER is “a photographic record of landscapes shaped by human acts.” At first glance, this may seem abstract. But viewing the collection brings an unexpected clarity. When experienced together, the book often becomes a point of conversation:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\u003cp\u003e“I used to ride this model!” or “That place looks just like my old neighborhood!”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\t\t\t\t\t  \n\u003cp\u003eViewed alone, however, it can evoke more introspective emotions―nostalgia, impermanence, or even regret. The motorcycles pictured sometimes appear to return one’s gaze, as though silently questioning: “Was this really how it was meant to end?”\u003cbr\u003e\nAs one revisits the images, it becomes difficult not to imagine the forgotten stories behind each machine. This is where the spirit of HUNGER truly comes to life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\u003cp\u003eThe title “HUNGER” signifies longing or yearning―perhaps these vehicles, left behind and out of time, are still hungering for something. In this sense, the book becomes more than a photographic record―it is an emotional narrative shaped by decay and memory.\u003cbr\u003e\nImportantly, the scenes captured in HUNGER are likely to disappear in the years ahead. Older motorcycles are being scrapped or restored, and urban landscapes are rapidly transforming.
